Overview
WWF Tanzania Country Office (WWF TCO) has a
contractual agreement with the African Development Bank to provide
technical assistance to the Government of Tanzania on a study for
piloting/testing Adaptation Benefits Mechanism (ABM) Methodology for
forest landscape restoration (FLR) project for climate resilience in
Tanzania. The ABM is a results-oriented finance mechanism that seeks to
attract public and private sector funding to projects and programs.

This
enables households, communities, economies, and ecosystems to adapt and
build resilience to the adverse effects of climate change. Furthermore,
the ABM Executive Committee has adopted key documents to facilitate
stakeholders in developing ABM methodologies and activities. These
include guidelines on the ABM activity cycle, a glossary of terms,
social and environmental safeguards, and a grievance mechanism.

Undertaking
a study on the application of the ABM methodology related to forest
landscape restoration (FLR) for climate resilience in a biodiversity
project in Tanzania.

WWF
TCO is now looking for a consultant(s) to undertake a study on the
application (piloting/testing) of the ABM methodology related to forest
landscape restoration (FLR) for climate resilience in a biodiversity
project in Tanzania. This study will demonstrate biodiversity financing
related ABM FLR works. It will entail preparation of the ABM Activity
Description Document to showcase how the methodology application to
biodiversity credits will benefit the communities, and farmers in Muheza
District and the East Usambara Sub-landscape and the population and
businesses of Tanga city.
