Responsibilities
- Perform daily vehicle pre-start check as per the checklist.
- Ensure
that all vehicles that resort under their responsibility are always
properly cleaned and maintained in good operating condition. - Ensure that all vehicles are regularly inspected and serviced according to the formal schedules from Engineering Services.
- Ensure that proper documentation for off trips is approved by the HR Superintendent/HR Manager.
- Collect and deliver employees from designated locations across the North Mara Mine site.
- Conduct the designated airstrip trips, observing the departure and arrival times of aircraft to avoid delays.
- Making
travel arrangements as assigned, provide safe transportation for staff,
guests and or travellers, helping passengers in and out of the vehicle
and other guidance. - Conduct driving duties in support of regular cleaning and maintenance campaigns across the North Mara mine site.
- Ensures
that, in the event of an accident/ incident involving the office
vehicle, the necessary steps required by standards and regulations are
followed. - Maintains and keep records for vehicles, logs official
trips, records daily mileage, records the use of fuel vouchers, and
keeps per diem records. - Exchanges relevant information and maintains an open line of communication with colleagues, supervisor and travellers.
- May
assist the HR department with certain activities should their primary
task of rendering a professional driver service not be affected.

Qualification requirements
- NIT Certification or its Equivalent is required
- Minimum of Secondary School Education certificate.
- Valid PSV driver’s license.
- Trained in defensive driving technics.
- Sound knowledge of Mining Safety Regulations and best practice.
Experience and competencies needed.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a professional driver in a large organization.
- Able to drive/operate manual transmission/shift gear.
- Good oral and written communications skills, both in English and Kiswahili
- Effective communication is crucial.
- High level of self-motivation
- Skills in minor vehicle repairs
- Excellent work ethics
- Excellent time management.
- Prior experience as a professional driver, especially in a VIP or executive driving capacity, is often preferred.

About the Team
The North Mara gold mine is located in north-west Tanzania in the Tarime
district of the Mara region. It is around 100 kilometres east of Lake
Victoria and 20 kilometres south of the Kenyan border.
North
Mara started commercial production in 2002. The mine is a combined open
pit and underground operation from two deposits, Gokona (underground)
and Nyabirama (open pit). The process plant has the capacity to process
an average of 8,000 tonnes of ore per day.
