Employment Opportunity – Managing Director
Introduction
Kilimanjaro
International Leather Industries Company Limited (KLICL) is a joint
venture company established by Public Service Social Security Fund
(PSSSF) and Prisons Corporation Sole (PCS). The establishment of the
Company is in line with the implementation of the second five-year
development plan (FYDP II) aiming at ensuring that Tanzania becomes
industrialized (Tanzania ya Viwanda)and middle-income economy by the
year 2025.
The Company was registered on 30th May 2017 and
issued with a Certificate of Incorporation number 135503. The Vision of
the Company is ‘To be a model producer and market leader in leather and
related products”, while its Mission is ‘To produce, distribute and sell
quality leather, sole and leather products at a reasonable and
competitive price using quality raw materials, modern technology,
qualified personnel and highest degree of customer service”
KLICL intends to hire a qualified, energetic, dynamic, creative and proactive person to fill the position of MANAGING DIRECTOR.
Job Summary
The
Managing Director reporting to the Board, will oversee the running of
the Kilimanjaro International Leather Industries Company Limited
(KLICL). He/ She will be in charge of ensuring that KLICL successfully
meets its vision, mission, goals and objectives by raising revenue and
working with the Board and Management to establish long-range goals,
strategies, plans and policies.
Key Responsibilities
- As
Managing Director, you will be accountable to manage all KLICL
activities including strategic leadership in developing programs and
financial plans of the Company, implement plans and polices authorized
and approved by the Board. - Ensure timely and accurate
preparation and submission to the Board, quality quarterly, bi-annual
and annual reports indicating both the technical and financial position
of the Company. - Implement sustainable strategies and advise the
Board on; overall KLICL sustainability including developing strategies
for increasing production, revenue and the efficient utilization of
human capital - Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce
policies and procedures of the Company by way of systems that will
improve the overall operations and effectiveness of the Company - Foster
and maintain relationships with various stakeholders not limited to
Government and its departments, local, foreign, public and private
entities that can and or do support KLICL’s Vision and Mission - Identify
and utilize appropriate lobbying and advocacy platforms in conjunction
with the Chairperson and Board Members as a strategy to overcome any
emerging challenges. - Ensure proper allocation of resources in line with the approved KLICL’s Corporate Strategic Plan, Annual plan and Budget
- Oversee general business operations of the Company including management of financial, physical and human resources
- Develop and implement business and market strategies to Local and International markets for raising revenue

Qualifications and Work Experience
-
A holder of bachelor and Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering,
Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Public Administration or
related fields from a recognized institution. Qualification in Leather
Processing and Technology is an added advantage - Experienced
business leader with at least 10 years working experience, 5 years at
Senior Management level with administrative experience. Experience in
Leather Processing and Technology is an added advantage.
Additional
- Demonstrate success in managing senior management; and proven ability to delicately solve complex and sensitive matters
- Excellent relationship management and communication skills necessary for interaction with all relevant stakeholders
- Strong leadership and managerial skills
- Strong change management skills in initiating and championing Company’s change
- Demonstrated skills and commitment to results
- Ability to identify and decipher market trends and intelligence
Remuneration
The Position carries attractive package commensurate with one’s qualification and experience
