The Kilimanjaro Christian Medical University College is a constituent
College of Tumaini University Makumira, owned by the Evangelical
Lutheran Church of Tanzania. The College trains health professionals for
various University awards in clinical, biomedical, and allied health
sciences. It currently wishes to recruit competent and committed human
resources to fill the following vacant positions.

Senior Procurement and Supply Officer Grade I

Senior Procurement and Supply Officer Grade I at KCMUCo February 2025

Kilimanjaro Christian Medical University College Job Vacancy: Senior Procurement and Supply Officer Grade I (March 2025)
Position Title: Senior Procurement and Supply Officer Grade I
Minimum Qualifications:
Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s
    and Master’s Degree in Procurement and Supply Management, Procurement
    and Logistics Management, Procurement and Chain Supply, or other related
    qualifications from a recognized institution.
  • Professional
    qualifications such as Certified Procurement and Supply Professional
    (CPSP), Certified Supplies Professional (CSP), Chartered Institute of
    Purchasing and Supply (CIPS), or other equivalent qualifications.
  • Must be registered by the Procurement and Supplies Professionals and Technicians Board.


Working Experience:

  • At
    least five (05) years’ work experience in a senior position in
    procurement and supply management, preferably in a higher education
    institution.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, supply chain management,
    policies and procedures, including tendering, contracting, clearance,
    transport, warehousing, distribution, and asset management.
  • Knowledge in budgeting, financial management, and accounting principles.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Be the Head of Procurement Management Unit (PMU).
  • Responsible for the development or review of materials/procurement management policy.
  • Prepare departmental budget.
  • Plan, coordinate, and control all PMU matters.
  • Identify
    material requirements of the College and make timely procurement at
    minimum costs, with due regard to users’ specifications.
  • Scrutinize purchase orders before forwarding them for approval.
  • Follow
    up with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries of purchased materials
    and take appropriate corrective actions on any delayed items.
  • Review,
    in collaboration with the respective Deans, Directors, and departmental
    heads, their procurement requirements and ensure materials and services
    are obtained at minimum costs.
  • Ensure stock replenishment is done at the right time.
  • Prepare
    purchase tender documents, invite tenders from potential suppliers,
    process and inform successful tenderers, and ensure goods are
    delivered/received promptly.
  • Ensure proper implementation of
    stores procedures and documentation, including goods receiving
    inspection and quality control, material handling and stock recording,
    material requisitioning and issuing, housekeeping, and security of
    materials.
  • Keep records of purchases and other sensitive documents in safe custody.
  • Supervise the work of junior staff working under you.
  • Be responsible for internal training of staff in the Procurement Management Unit.
  • Perform any other duty as assigned by the Provost or other senior officers of the College.

Internal Auditor (1 Post)

Kilimanjaro Christian Medical University College: Internal Auditor Recruitment (March 2025)
Position Title: Internal Auditor (1 Post)
Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s
    degree in accountancy, Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting), Business
    Administration (major in Accounting) from an accredited Professional
    College or university, or any other qualification recognized as its
    equivalent.
  • MUST be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA (T) or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)).
  • Must be registered by the National Board of Accountants and Auditors as a Graduate Accountant (GA).

Working Experience:

  • A work experience of at least one year will be an added advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assisting
    the College Internal Auditor in reviewing the systems of internal
    control from time to time and suggesting improvements, modifications, or
    changes.
  • Assisting in executing financial and operational
    internal audits, including developing and performing specific audit
    procedures, preparing work papers documenting the audit procedures
    performed, and communicating audit findings to the Chief Internal
    Auditor.
  • Ensuring that accepted accounting and audit principles and policies are followed.
  • Evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of internal accounting procedures and operating systems and controls.
  • Ensuring
    that the procurement plan, fiscal accountability plan, management
    operations, and procedures manuals and related documents are adhered to.
  • Reviewing
    and auditing the financial and para-financial activities of the College
    and submitting quarterly reports to the Chief Internal Auditor and
    Provost.
  • Advising the Chief Internal Auditor on the efficient management and control of College finances and assets.
  • Conducting investigations and reporting findings to the Chief Internal Auditor and Provost.
  • Assisting in the preparation of Audit Committee meeting materials and responding to ad-hoc requests.
  • Performing other functions as assigned by the Chief Internal Auditor or other competent College Authority.

A

qualifications and work experience, in accordance with the KCMUCo
Schemes of Service and Staff Regulations and Conditions of Service.
