Tanganyika Plywood LTD (TPL) produces plywood for the local and
regional markets in East Africa. It uses sustainable plantation
materials, specifically eucalyptus and pine. The company has been
operating for 8 years. It is looking for a dedicated candidate that has a
keen eye to details strong organizational skills and a solid
understanding of heavy-duty equipment mechanism. The company is located
in Mafinga, with its plant in Mgololo-Mufindi, Tanzania. The project
post is for a full-time position on Mgololo site.

Job Summary:
Tanganyika
Plywood Limited is seeking to recruit a skilled Bell Logger, Forklift
and Wheel Loader Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be
responsible for maintaining and repairing Bell logging equipment,
forklift and wheel loaders to ensure optimal performance and safety.
This position requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a
commitment to quality work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on Bell logging equipment and wheel loaders.
• Diagnose mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Conduct inspections and identify potential problems before they escalate.
• Repair or replace defective parts, including engines, hydraulics, and transmissions.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed.
• Collaborate with operators and other staff to ensure equipment is safe and reliable.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Follow safety protocols and adhere to industry regulations.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or equivalent education qualification in Heavy equipment
  mechanic, Plant mechanic, diesel mechanic or any other relevant
  technical certification.
• Proven experience as a mechanic, specifically with Bell logging, wheel loaders and fork lift equipment.
• Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Proficient in using hand and power tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to operate heavy machinery is required.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift heavy objects and work in physically demanding environments.
