are seeking a dedicated Head of Plant Machinery to join our team and
contribute to our mission of fostering a positive work environment.

Investment Ltd is licenced under Tanzania Revenue Authority to operate
ICD facility since 2012. Its welllocated depot site includes 9 acres of
paved yard; with the capacity to store 3800 Twenty Foot equivalent units
(TEUS) stacked 5 high. Our Vission is to establish ourselves as the
leading Container and Transport Logistics provider, our Mission is to
exceed our client’s needs by consistently improving our quality
services. Our team is comprised of talented individuals who are driven
to achieve excellence in ICD, CFS Industry.

Job Title: Head of Plant Machinery
Job Summary:
Lead and manage the plant machinery department.
Oversee
maintenance, operation, and optimization of various machinery and
equipment including lifting equipment, forklifts, bobcats, container
lifting equipments, excavators, graders, and shovels.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Management: Supervise and coordinate the activities of the machinery and equipment team.
  • Develop and implement departmental strategies and objectives.
  • Monitor performance and provide training and support to team members.
  • Maintenance & Operations: Oversee regular maintenance schedules for all machinery and equipment.
  • Ensure timely repairs and minimal downtime for equipment.
  • Conduct inspections and manage upgrades or replacements as needed.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all machinery complies with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Develop and enforce safety procedures and protocols. o Conduct safety audits and address any compliance issues.
  • Resource Management: Manage budgets related to machinery maintenance and procurement.
  • Coordinate
    with suppliers and vendors for parts and equipment. o Optimize resource
    allocation to improve operational efficiency.
  • Project
    Management: Plan and oversee projects involving machinery upgrades or
    new installations. o Collaborate with other departments to meet project
    goals and deadlines.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
  • Prepare and present reports on machinery performance and departmental activities.

Qualifications:
Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Diploma in plant equipment or a related field (preferred).

  • Proven experience in managing plant machinery and equipment.
  • Hands-on experience with lifting equipment, forklifts, bobcats, container lifting equipment, excavators, graders, and shovels.

Skills: 

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of machinery maintenance and safety regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in using machinery management software and tools.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in machinery maintenance and safety (e.g., OSHA, PMP) are a plus.
