About Tanzania Institute of Education
The
Tanzania Institute of Education (TIE) is a government institute under
the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology established under Act
No.13 of 1975 (CAP 142 RE 2002). Its basic mandate is to interpret
Government policies on education into befitting curricula, curricula
support materials and programmes aiming at facilitating provision of
quality education at pre-primary, primary, secondary and teacher
education levels. Specific functions of TIE are to:

• design, develop and review curricula for Pre-primary, Primary, Secondary, and Teacher Education levels:
• prepare curricular support materials including textbooks, syllabi and teachers guides:
• provide in-service teachers training so as to enable teachers implement the curriculum effectively and efficiently: and
• conduct
  research on various educational related matters including teaching and
  learning processes and the general quality of education.

Qualification and experience

• Holder
  of Bachelor Degree in Tourism or its equivalent qualifications from a
  recognized Institution with at least a minimum GPA of 3.5.

Duties and responsibilities

• To design, develop and to try out instructional materials:
• To conduct professional training and seminars for tutors and teachers:
• To advise the Head of Department on issues related to subject of specialization:
• To
  conduct research, monitoring and evaluation of curriculum or any other
  educational activities on his/her area of specialization:
• To write and publish academic papers on his/her area of specialization: and
• To perform any other related duties as may be assigned by supervisor.

Remuneration
Attractive remuneration package in accordance to TIE Scheme of Service (PHTS 1.1)

GENERAL CONDITIONS
An applicant must:

• be a Tanzanian Citizen;
• attach an up-to-date Curriculum Vitae (CV) with reliable contacts; postal address/post code, e-mail and telephone numbers;
• attach certified copies of the: – Postgraduate/Degree/Advanced Diploma/ Form IV and Form VI National Examination Certificates;
• Professional Registration and Training Certificates from Respective Registration or Regulatory Bodies(where applicable);
• A birth certificate. attach recent Passport Size Photo (coloured); and
• indicate three reputable referees with their reliable contact information.

Note:
Certificates from foreign examination bodies for Ordinary or Advanced
level education should be verified by the National Examination Council
of Tanzania (NECTA). Also, professional certificates from foreign
universities and other training institutions should be verified by the
Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU)and/or National Council for
Technical Education (NACTE).

Furthermore, copies of Form IV and
form VI results slips, as well as Testimonials and all Partial
transcripts are strictly not accepted.
