One of Right To Play offices (Burundi, Canada, Ethiopia, Ghana, Jordan,
Lebanon, Mali, Mozambique, Pakistan, the Palestinian Territories,
Rwanda, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda or United Kingdom)
Work Arrangement:
A combination of in-office and remote-working in accordance with Right
To Play’s work arrangement and the operational needs of the department
Authorized to work in: One of the countries listed above (eligible to work legally without visa or work permit sponsorship)
Target Hiring Range: Local
salary scale applies (Grade 7). Hiring range and benefits will be
shared with applicants as part of the recruitment process.
Target Start Date: As soon as possible
Contract Duration: Full-time, long-term engagement

ROLE SUMMARY:
Reporting
to the Vice President, Country Offices (VPCO), the Business Analyst,
Country Offices is responsible for supporting the integration and
synthesis of information from different Right To Play (RTP) units to
support our 14 Country Offices (Burundi, Canada, Ethiopia, Ghana,
Jordan, Lebanon, Mali, Mozambique, Pakistan, the Palestinian
Territories, Rwanda, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda).
You will play a
key role in informing decision making based on opportunities and
challenge areas to strengthen Country Offices. To facilitate program
excellence and profiling of RTP at country level, you will work with
different units at country and global support levels in RTP to develop
Country Office operational and strategic synthesis. You will lead on
collating country office information for annual planning and quarterly
reviews and other periodic updates as needed. You will align these plans
with the broader strategic framework in a seamlessly integrated manner
and offer insights to the VPCO; Global Director, Country Offices; and
Country Directors for their respective action.
The role will require occasional travel to other countries of operation.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
#1: Strategy (30% of Time):
-
Leads the process of reviewing and collating the Country Office Annual
(Implementation) Plans in alignment with their Country Strategic Plans,
including the identification of support areas and requisite resource
allocation requirements - Supports the HQ budgeting planning
process for Country Offices portfolio including working with the GDCO,
Finance team to review and monitor the Country Offices budgets and
subsequent monitoring - Supports the tracking of Country Office Annual Implementation Plan and Performance Agreement
- Contributes
to strategic projects to address emerging issues (e.g. localization,
transformative partnerships) from the Country Offices Annual
(Implementation) Plans and support the strengthening of Country Offices - Works
closely with the VPCO and Director, Strategy on the mid point review of
the Country Strategic Plans that feed into the mid-point review of the
Global Strategy - Develops strategic content in preparation for key internal and external meetings
- Prepares
briefs for country/regional/global partnership engagement with
strategic partners, includes mapping out key engagement opportunities at
global, regional and country level - Coordinates follow up of Country Offices and other RTP global agenda related consultancies/short term assignments
#2: Country Office Reporting (30% of Time):
- Leads
the process of collation and synthesis of scheduled reports from
different RTP units on Country Offices including Audit, Finance,
Fundraising, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL), and Partnership
for periodic reporting on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) - Conducts an analysis of Country Office monthly reports to identify key support needs
- Monitors the Country Office Action Plans based on priority issues identified from the reporting and support needed
- Coordinates the periodic Country Office meetings focused on the review of KPIs
- Prepares
the annual Country Office Learning Review Report based on collating and
synthesis of individual country Learning Review Reports - Prepares
key material for board meetings (International Board of Directors,
Programme Committee, Executive Team) with pertinent reporting graphics
and data on Country Offices
#3: Country Office Capacity Building (20% of Time):
- Supports
and provides capacity building to Country Directors and Senior
Management Team on effective planning and information management for
decision making at country level - Develops and promotes a culture
of data-informed decision making, ensuring teams have the support and
resources to leverage different information platforms for efficient work
processes - Manages interns (when in place) to provide support, guidance to country offices
#4: Knowledge Management (15% of Time):
- Encourages
a culture of knowledge sharing of information and expertise among
different country teams and global units/departments - Establish
guidelines for capturing, organizing and disseminating knowledge
effectively and ensures staff understand the purpose and processes of
knowledge management - Ensure relevant information and knowledge is shared and used by the right people
- Support in capturing and documenting new information, best practices and lessons learnt
- Assess the effectiveness of knowledge-sharing initiatives and processes and suggest revisions and adjustments when needed
#5: Performs Other Duties as Assigned (5% of Time)
WHAT YOU’LL BRING (ESSENTIAL):
EDUCATION/TRAINING/CERTIFICATION:
- Bachelor’s
degree in international development, Business, Public Administration,
Project Management or related field; or equivalent work experience

EXPERIENCE:
- 5 years’ experience in the international development sector in related functions
- Experience
operating as a change agent, who identified opportunities to build and
strengthen efficiencies to support and drive strategic interests - Experience
as an organizational champion of continuous improvement,
institutionalizing learning, innovation, achievement and support.
COMPETENCIES/PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:
- Demonstrates
high level of interpersonal and cross-cultural skills, including the
ability to build collaborative relationships internally and externally - Highly developed communication skills – written and verbal – with proven ability to positively engage with senior colleagues
- Meticulous
attention to detail, a highly organized approach to dealing with work
and the capacity to progress a range of tasks and projects at one time - Strategic thinker with an innovative approach to problem-solving
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Report writing skills and ability to summarize and synthesize information
- Analytical skills and ability to work with large data sets and associated analysis
- Strong
qualitative and quantitative analytical skills and practical and
technical skills in tools such as Office 365 and PowerBI in order to
mobilize organization data to drive strategic priorities - Ability to condense data and information to extract high-level takeaways for senior executives
SECTOR SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE:
Understanding of INGO / international development internal and external environment
LANGUAGES: Fluency in spoken and written English
BONUS IF YOU’LL BRING (NOT ESSENTIAL):
- Master’s degree in related subject
- Experience working with stakeholders remotely
- Fluency in Arabic, French or Portuguese. French as a priority.
