6 New Government Various Jobs at TANROADS May 2024

Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) is vested with the
responsibility of Maintenance and Development of the Trunk and Regional
Roads Network in Tanzania Mainland. It is also responsible in conducting
Axle Load Control Operations using weighbridge scales.

The
Regional Manager TANROADS Kigoma on behalf of the Chief Executive
TANROADS is looking for suitable qualified and competent Tanzanians to
fill vacant posts available for the project of Upgrading of Kibondo –
Mabamba Road Project to Bitumen Standard.

TANROADS therefore
intends to recruit qualified and competent staff to fill vacancy posts
on specified contract for the aforementioned project in the following
fields.

CAD TECHNICIAN (1 Post)
CAD Technician at Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) May 2024
Key Entry Qualifications:

• Must
  be a Tanzanian Citizen who is a holder of Diploma in Civil Engineering,
  Land Surveying or equivalent from a recognized Institutions with
  working experience of at least five (3) years in related field. 
• He/she must have Certificate in CAD training.

  prepare drawings and sketches in collaboration with other staff related
  to road or bridge design; and Liaise with Highway Engineer for sketches
  or drawings improvements on road/bridge design.

Entry Qualifications

• Must
  be a Tanzanian Citizen who is a holder of Bachelor Degree in one of the
  following fields: Civil Engineering, Highway Engineering,
  Transportation Engineering, Structural Engineering or equivalent
  qualifications from a recognized Institution with working experience of
  at least four (4) years in related field. 
• Must be registered by ERB as Graduate Engineer.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Inspect bridge/structure works to ensure compliance with technical specifications;
• Inspect
  the implementation of QA/QC procedures in the project; Attend
  contractor’s request for inspection; Keep daily records for contractor’s
  equipment and personnel;
• Inspect compliance of site health and safety;
• Prepare
  and submit daily progress report; Identify conforming or non-conforming
  construction materials or works; and Perform such other related duties
  as may be assigned by Supervisor

Assistant Land Surveyor

POSITION TITLE: ASSISTANT LAND SURVEYOR (1 POST)
Entry Qualifications:

• Must
  be a Tanzanian Citizen who is a holder of Diploma in Land Surveying or
  equivalent from a recognized Institutions with working experience of at
  least five (3) years in related field.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• To assist in preparation and sketches, maps and reports of works performed;
• To
  assist in reviewing survey data for accuracy, including measurements
  and calculations conducted at survey sites; To record the results of
  surveys, including the shape, contour, location, elevation, and
  dimensions of land or land features; To assist in determining
  specifications for photographic equipment to be used for aerial
  photography; and
• Perform such other related duties as may be assigned by Supervisor

Senior Engineer (Highway Engineer) – 2 Posts

POSITION TITLE: SENIOR ENGINEER (HIGHWAY ENGINEER) – 2 POSTS
Entry Qualifications:

• Must
  be a Tanzanian Citizen who is a holder of Bachelor Degree in one of the
  following fields: Civil Engineering, Highway Engineering,
  Transportation Engineering or equivalent qualifications from a
  recognized Institutions with working experience of at least seven (7)
  years in related field. Must be registered by ERB as Professional
  Engineer.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• To supervise conformity of contract conditions and specifications;
• To
  review existing design and identify any shortfalls and advise to the
  Resident Engineer appropriately during the construction period; To
  identify and locate all beacons and benchmarks to enable the contractor
  set out and construct the works; To inspcctcompleted works in order to
  ensure compliance with technical specification requirements;
• To
  prepare control charts of the main activities and a project master
  schedule, indicating both past performance and forecasts for completion
  including time involved in each ease;
• To measure quantities of
  works satisfactorily carried out; To prepare and submit detailed
  progress report with updated cost of the civil works to the Resident
  Engineer; and
• To perform such other related duties as may be assigned by the Project Manager (PM)

Senior Engineer (Materials)

POSITION TITTLE: SENIOR ENGINEER (MATERIALS) – (1 POST)
Entry Qualifications:

• Must
  be a Tanzanian Citizen who is a holder of Bachelor Degree in one of the
  following fields; Civil Engineering, Highway Engineering,
  Transportation Engineering, Structural Engineering or equivalent
  qualifications from recognized Institutions with working experience of
  at least seven (7) years in related field. Must be registered by ERB as
  Professional Engineer.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Complete supervision of the laboratory and experiments, to strictly apply the specifications;
• Ensure
  the implementation of the QA/QC’ procedures in the project. The entire
  Quality Cheek list is to be effectively implemented; Inspecting, testing
  and approving all materials and completed works to ensure compliance
  with technical specification requirements; Ensure the proper, regular
  and approved calibrations arc taking place and on time for all testing
  equipment in the Laboratories;
• Oversee that all approved material samples inside the samples room on site arc organized, properly stored and labeled;
• Prepare
  daily reports regarding the work, approved samples and the supplied
  materials, and check inventories besides keeping records for all
  materials activities in the project; To advise the Resident Engineer
  regarding the applications of materials used on site in addition to the
  quality control;
• Review test results by Contractor and their respective pavement and materials reports and advise on the way- forward.

Successful applicants must be ready to work for considerable lengths of time in Kibondo District where the project is located

Terms of Service:

• The Terms of Employment: Specified Contract for 1 year
• Salary: TANROADS Salary scale with other site allowances as per TANROADS Incentive Policy
