Position: Geo technicians (11)
Reports to: Geologist
Roles and Responsibilities

• Preparation
  and execution of exploration programs over specific prospect areas, as
  directed by the Senior Geologist or Geology Manager.
• All drill
  rig activities including Sample preparation, prepare sampling books,
  sampling sheet, prepare sample bags, and sample dispatch, QAQC
  procedures for Diamond drilling, Air core and RC rig.
• Supervise
  all activities regarding Diamond drill rig including pad preparation,
  rig set up, core tray and

  core blocks preparations, meter marking, core
  orientation, core cutting, core and chips photograph. Core weighing
  (Relative density and Bulk density).

• Measuring magnetic susceptibility (magsus) of DD core samples, AC and RC chips samples.
• Implementation
  of field support tasks assigned by Geologists as part of maximizing
  resource identification and minimizing geotechnical risks arising from
  mining.
• Supervision and ensuring the approved methods and procedures are utilized to reduce potential hazards in field works.
• Ensure field consumables are available and report when more are to be ordered in a timely manner.
• Ensure QAQC standards are maintained during drilling and other field operations.
• All core yard activities will be assigned by geologist.
• Any other duties as may you be assigned by management or your supervisor.

REQUIRED SKILLED KNOWLEDGE
Qualification:

• Diploma or Certificate in Geology and Exploration from any recognized Institute
• Alternative:
  Certificate of Secondary School (O-Level / A-Level) or Basic Technician
  Competence Certificate in Geology and Mineral Exploration with at least
  3 years’ experience in the field of Geology
• Minimum of 2 years in Exploration and mining.

For all positions,

• Ensuring safety standards are maintained during field operations.
• Valid driving license is an added advantage.
• Employment Band: Professional
• Roster: 5 days on, 2 days off
• Duty Station: Nyanzaga Site, Sengerema District, Mwanza
• Contract type: Specific Task Contract (Three months)
